These images were made in the frozen early morning after a hard rain the day before had filled up all of the run-off ditches. The crystal patterns that resulted from the water freezing as it subsided made a rare opportunity to capture beauty that would be all too easy to miss.
These images explore the idea of creating realistic landscapes from multiple images to present a photograph of a place that really doesn’t exist. Many elements like lighting, planes, type of sky, and overall composition come into play in the traditional landscape image whether painted or photographed. By picking and choosing his own elements the artist has control over all of these pieces and can craft an image of a landscape that only exists in the minds of the artist and the viewer.
Landscape images made in a more traditional style, straight photographs with an emphasis on the beautiful.
Images made at night often involve long exposures and multiple light sources of different colors resulting in new visions of sometimes familiar scenes.
